Mr. Charles Amash recognized the demand for quality merchandise by both small and large businesses and took action by building a company that could foresee the needs of businesses and have supplies ready to fill those merchandise requirements.
Since GRIP’s inception, their growth has been steady and focused on the long term. This approach to building lasting relationships and putting the customer first has been supported by strategic forethought; ultimately propelling them to a top 10 regional supplier of tools and general merchandise.
Over the Years
In the forty-one years since its inception, GRIP has grown into a Top 10 regional supplier of tools and general merchandise in the Midwest, and a popular supplier across the U.S., Canada, and other Western countries. Charles and his two sons, Elias and Jason, have continued to build their company on lasting relationships, putting the customer first, and using strategic insight and planning.

Our mission is comitted to fully satisfying our customer’s need through continuous improvement, new & innovativeproucts, Customer support & education. We have a long term commitment aimed at continuously improving the way we work, providing a safe work environment, managing our business process, and supplier selection. It is our goal to posture our company for market expansion, and to support our customers in every way we possibly can, including education.
Centrally located on 40 acres just south of Grand Rapids, Michigan, GRIP features a newly expanded 200,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, including a 2,000 square foot product showroom, corporate offices and buyer meeting rooms.
GRIP now features product lines that offer over 1,500 items and continue to grow! Our items range from hand tools to household items, automotive, air tools, general merchandise, and many more categories. We are excited to see how our client relationships and product lines grow in the years to come.
